Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dimension of I’jaz Ilmi (scientific miraculousness) of the Qur'an through the theological reconstruction and modern cosmology of the creation verses. This study employed a qualitative library research method with a Tafsir Maudhu'i (Thematic) approach. Textual data were isolated from QS. Al-Anbiya [21]: 30 and QS. Adz-Dzariyat [51]: 47, semantically analyzed using classical lexicons and authoritative exegeses (Tafsir Ibn Kathir and Al-Misbah), and contextualized with modern cosmic data. The results demonstrate that the terms ratqan and al-fatq precisely indicate the initial state of the cosmos (singularity) and the cosmic inflation phase of the Big Bang. Furthermore, the noun agent (isim fa'il) in the word lamusi'un textually proves that the universe is continuously expanding, dismantling the static universe dogma. The phrase "Awalam yaralladzīna kafarū" serves as a scientific prophecy that these mechanics would be proven through empirical reasoning by modern scientists. Based on these findings, it is recommended for future researchers to expand the scope of study to other cosmological verses, such as the formation of heavy elements (hadid) or the end of the universe (doomsday), using interdisciplinary science integration. Future studies are also advised to maintain strict methodological boundaries to avoid far-fetched interpretations (takalluf), considering the Qur'an is absolute truth (qath'i) while scientific theories remain tentative (zhanni).
