The Effect of the RADEC Learning Model Assisted by Learning Videos on Students’ Learning Outcomes

Science learning in the Merdeka Curriculum requires active student involvement to improve learning outcomes. However, science learning at SMPN 29 Padang was still dominated by conventional teaching, resulting in low student engagement and learning outcomes. Therefore, the RADEC model assisted by educational videos is important to investigate as an alternative that promotes active learning and helps visualize abstract science concepts. This study aimed to determine the effect of the RADEC model assisted by educational videos on the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMPN 29 Padang. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The samples were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through a learning outcomes test, observation sheets, and a student response questionnaire. Learning outcome data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and independent-samples t-tests, while observation and student response data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the implementation of the RADEC model by the teacher and student reached 95% and 93%, respectively, while student responses reached 81,41%, indicating a positive response to the learning process. The hypothesis test showed that = 2,1552 was greater than = 1,9989 at a significance level of 0,05. Therefore, the RADEC model assisted by educational videos had a significant effect on the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMPN 29 Padang on the Solar System topic.
